Question:

Solo travel to relax and re-center, any advice?

Hi. I'm an experienced traveler, age 32. I've had some stress in my life with illness and a death in friends and family recently.

I've found in the past that travel helps me re-focus in some way.

I don't follow any one religion, and am open to a variety of destinations. I'm from the US and have about 3 weeks and a decent budget.

Can anyone advice a nice place where you were able to enjoy your time and find some peace?

Thanks very much!

  1. i am an innkeeper in Mississippi.  i get many people coming to my inns who travel from new orleans and do the music tour through natchez, ms, clarksdale, ms memphis tn and then on to nashville.  see bigpinkguesthouse.com for my clarksdale location.  opening one now in natchez.

  2. Hi!

I came across your post...I hope you are ok. I have been to Utah before and it is incredible. Tons of mountains, hiking and biking....I stayed at the red mountain resort and am planning to head back this may. I actually just read an article on singleedition.com which says they are foregoing the single supplement!

    Good luck!

  3. I would definitely recommend Thailand...The people are friendly, the religion is buddhism and it reflects int he genuinely calm and  sincerity of the people...the beaches are fabulous - they are not all on the full moon party vibe...You can find the most peaceful exotic gorgeous little beaches with communities living on them. Grab a little wooden bungalow for about 4 euro per night with a bed and a cold water bathroom, walk 3 minutes to the beach for a dip, or laze in your hammock for the afternoon with the beautiful tropical nature around you...find one little beach as a base and travel around the Islands at whatever pace you like...In the North there are beautiful and historical National parks with ancient ruins ...also very peaceful..It's not too hard to travel in this Country, the people are helpful and alot of Thais speak some English...
