The Old Trafford legend wants to take over from the Scot when he eventually calls it a day after almost three decades of unrivaled success.
Replacing Sir Alex Ferguson at his Manchester throne will be a tough task for the Red Devils but they have been buoyed by the fact that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has expressed his eagerness for the job.
The Norwegian endured a hugely successful career at the Theatre of Dreams, before retiring at the club in 2007 because of a persistent knee problem.
Shortly after, the ex-striker took up a coaching role with the reserves and guided them to silverware before taking up the chance to work with Molde back in his homeland.
Known for his predatory instincts, it seems that Solskjaer might have something to contribute from the bench as he managed to claim the Tippeligaen title during his debut season in-charge.
That historic win has coincided with rumours emerging that the upcoming several years might be Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752’s last at United and it’s no wonder that the ‘Baby Faced Assassin’ is a fan favourite to replace the veteran Scot.
Solskjaer is still far from a finished product in terms of a manager and still needs to prove himself in Europe if he is to land the hot seat in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. Nonetheless, he remains vocal about his eagerness to coach his former employers, saying that the experience
would be like a dream for him.
"It's a dream but let's take just one step at a time. I'm not naive enough to say I can do that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Norway-c2974. So the time will come.”
"I've spoken to clubs and explained it's a bit early as I want to learn and don't want to jump too big a bridge at the start. Managing is not easy but it's very enjoyable when you are winning, it's challenging when you have a bad start,” the ex-Norwegian
skipper was quoted as saying while talking to the media.
