Solution to brighten up all white apartment?

Question

I have moved to this new apartment which has white walls in all rooms with white wood closets and cabinets in all rooms. I want to bring color to my living room and i bought a buttery yellow reclining sofa and i have black entertainment table. Need help with rugs or wall decor to bring color and contemporary look. i cannot paint the house

curtains, add lots of accesories around the house like flowers and wood things (desks, lamps, etc.)

Think of it like an art gallery.  The walls are white so one will focus on the art, furniture and accessories.  Keep to the decorators color ratio: 60, 30, 10 and don't add too many colors or it will be garish instead of warm.

bring in some earthy tones to help ground and warm the space.  try a couple of coordinating print pillows and solids that match the print.  add a throw in a solid.  an area rug in a geometric or ethnic print would be nice as well. do simple black frames on all your photos and art, it will help to unify the pieces, and tie in with your entertainment center. for great inspiration, i love pottery barn for their modern/ eclectic ideas.

add colored furniture, curtains, rugs, accessories, etc. Don't put too much color in one room, just have maybe the big things neutral and then pops of color in accessories or vice versa
