Well I'm kind of having trouble coming up with solutions to stop motorcycles from going over bridges, but allow access for bikes. If anyone has a good idea I would like to hear it and thanks in advance.

  1. Rent a cop

  2. you could try spacing barriers far enough apart to allow bike traffic but make it very difficult for motorcyclist, however OHV motorcycles are real hard to stop so you are basically creating a deterrent, they Will find a way around!

  3. Posts at the ends of the bridge in a double Y formation so a bike can't make the turn but a bicycle can be lifted over the posts.

  4. Motorcycles have the same priveledges as automobiles and don't need a special bridge access. Where are you located?

  5. I was unaware this was a problem. More detail please. I suppose you could make bike ramps along the side of the bridge, like they have for pedestrians.

  6. hardly any cars goova bridges y would bikes? unless ur not watching the road or speedin u shouldnt go ova a bridge?

are u an engineer or something?? council worker?

  7. A low gate that pops up from the ground, like the security spikes you see at some military bases.

Instead of spikes, the gate would have narrow openings, narrow enough for a bicycle to go through, but too narrow for a motorcycle.  To push the gate down would require 1000 lbs of weight, that's more than even Honda Gold Wing motorcycle weighs.

  8. If I understand you mean driving off the sides? The guard rails are for that. If there is a problem there, raise the height. The bridges here are on divided roads that have a median strip that is some 20 feet wide. That is the distance between opposing lanes so there is practically no way they can cross to the other side of a bridge. I just don't understand the question.
