  1. We need to push for legistlation on ALTERNATIVE energy.  Not just concentrating on Ethanol.  Solar, Wind, Hydro, and methane!  I'm no technical person, but using our neverending supply of garbage seems one of the best ways to supply energy.  There are companies such as Johnsons who are already supplying their factories this way.  The problem is noone wants to take their hands out of the till to employ these alternatives.

  2. None.

as oil and other fossil fuels run out our civilization will die.

  3. Let's get real here driving less and buying a new vehicle that gets better gas is out of most people reach. How can you stop driving less when you have to go get food you have to go to work. What am I supposed to cut out? I don't go anywhere now other then those places and to run the kids to doc's and schools. I can't cut back anymore then I have I gave up on the solution a long time ago. When I have to decide on buying groceries and daring to be on time for my electric bill every month or get turned off that's a hard thing to choose which one. I don't pay for net I get it free through my plan and we have one phone the cell phone. The kids we don't take anywhere really because we can't aford to eating out is not an option for us. So what's the solution who knows but I know here in ohio you get taxed to death. Many towns are spread apart and I'm hardly making it just to get to work. I can't go out here and buy a new hybrid car there is no way if I didn't live so far out from most things I would walk. I can't aford to move so were just stuck and there is like being in a padded room with no way out.

  4. Get a hybrid vehicle.

  5. We need to be building more vehicles and other equipment that is more energy efficient.

  6. Up until the 1930's, the US had in place a well run animal, ship, and mass transportation system that didn't depend on fossil fuels. Railroads and subway systems were in many cities such as in Los Angeles and Chicago. Even in my hometown in California, there was an electric train system. And that was in the 1920's.

The rise of the giant oil and vehicle producers are responsible for ripping and otherwise destroying those systems.

Suburbs were constructed with private transportation in mind, make it impossible to function without them.

The reason for high gas prices now is based on greed and deceit of these private transportation industrial criminals. We are now entering into the world of "Peak Oil" which will give these wolves even higher profits and make nations more and more desperate in obtaining and controlling their black gold.

  7. Drive less.

    Drive a fuel efficient car.

    Consolidate your trips into town.

    Don't make unnecessary trips.

    Drive slower.

It is really simple to beat the high gas prices, but Americans just don't want to give up their wasteful lifestyles.

  8. Solutions which would involve major cities like L.A.  not Rural Areas. The main problem is in the cities anyway.

Non Proliferation Agreement for cars in all major cities. An Agreement not produce more automobiles or buy any from other nations. Dismantle cars Agreement. Leave only produce trucks, Hydro Trucks, Buses, Cabs, Police Cars, on roads. Ambulences as well. The rest replaced put on electric power subsidised  by Government . Electric Cars. If not use of garbage, electricity, or Ethanol not sure what to suggest.

  9. I say drill for oil offshore and in Alaska.  The oil companies have been making very good profits and should be able to build refineries and invest in technology that will do very little damage to wildlife etc.  This will help the economy and create jobs in the U.S.  and the U.S can sale oil on the world market as well.  The problem is just going to get worst because other countries are growing and demand for oil is going to increase.  Alternative fuel is something that should be explored more and giving tax breaks is a very good idea for companies who go this route.  We can still conserve in our personal lives but it shouldn't be mandated by the government.  The bureaucracy is always messing things up with earmarks and red tape as it is.

  10. 1 (short term solution): Drill ANWAR, drill off the coasts, drill everywhere that has oil. Build refineries to get the gas supply up.

2 (long term solution): Encourage companies to invest in alternative fuels by giving them tax breaks. Then we can tell the middle east to go **** themselves.
