  1. The funds that Governments release for this cause should be passed on to institutions and in turn the institutions must take responsiblities if " Aforestation" of specified areas.

The concerns of these institutions for these areas would help prevent further deforestation of of such areas as the love and feelings accrued from hardwork done for the purpose is at stake.

  2. Well, the first thing we can do is stop this insanity of thinking Ethanol is a solution.

In South America, they're chopping down rain forest at a greater rate than ever before, to grow cane for Ethanol.

We're starting to grow buttloads of corn here now, and if we keep going this direction, we'll need so much land to grow stuff to make ethanol out of, that we'll have to start cutting our forests down too.

I'm not kidding. They've already done the math; there is not enough land in the US to grow even 20% of our fuel needs in Ethanol, EVEN IF WE DIDN'T GROW ANYTHING FOR FOOD.

The great thing about oil is, you can have a pumping outfit with the footprint of a small strip-mall, that will put out hundreds of millions of barrels of the stuff.

You'd have to plant 1/3 of the country to do that with Ethanol.

  3. three words: plant more trees :D

  4. I think awareness about plants and their presence has started making threat in our day to day life

intelligent and environment loving people like you think lot before cutting them i think mostly trees are cut ed due to conversion of forest in the town due to overgrowing population which can be controlled by imparting education between illiterates.you can do it as well give awareness about trees and family planning and you can hit on different issue deforestation and controlling population.

  5. Good Question, I am dealing with the solution as well :) Nice to find a fellow friend.

Basic thoughts are to plant the fastest growing trees possible which does not harm the soil in replacement of the ones that are fell.

There are many factors to consider depending which country and land the trees are in thus best to deal with as a case by case basis, how about you? feel free to give me a msg :)

  6. While we do regonisz that global warming is a serious issue, and we do our best through to highlight the message of this problem through campaigns  using of energy-efficient fuel and less usage of CFC products, we often tend to forget the causes of this global warming

One of them is deforestation a growing concern among animal activist , enviromentalist and non-profit groups. With the rise of rapid modernnisation which began raelly from the industrial revolution of the 1800s, the lifestyle of man began to improve and the quality of life became better.Hence man began to have longer life and this decreased the mortality rate decraesed. As such mann himself needs more resources and started to  become resorceful finding new sway to food ans supply clothes and food.foe e,g inventing synethytic clothing and growing organic food. but as our method began to run out, we turn to the the enviroment

and sow e harm our very enviroment the forest and the marshes and swamps that our ancestors once came across. We remove the natural forest. kill wildlife and harm the eco-system thrrough deforestation to build our won settlements and the explotation of our land by MNCs

What we have failed to understand is tht man is very much linked to the enviroment  and we do this the consequences ae devastating ad severe not for ourslevs and for our children

Firstly , when deforestation occurs, we help to incraese the problem of global warming, tress helps to reduce the problem of global warmin sby taking in teh carbon dioxide simce carbon dioxide is food to them as what oxygen is to humans

and so by decraesing tha number of trees we are allowing more nad mre carbon dioxidein our trasphohere. We do not have to imagine what this causes.rise in  sea levels(leading to floods) increased temperatures around the world, increased droughts and famines in poor regions like Darfur and as a result oduinary people suffer a lot

We also think of the natural habitat of our plants and animal-the ecosystem. The forest is great habitat for animals. as it is their only home na dthe only source of place where they can hunt and let their natural instinct be instilled. When deforestation occurs, what will happen to their livelyhood. where will they go- will they go to our natural habitat of homes and cities where they will be unable yo co-exsist with humans

The forest is also a great resource beacuse there are many plants and animals that are yet to be discovered.together with the current exsisting group we have discovered. What would be then of them left i deforestation start to occur.Defoerstation would destroy them totally leasing to our future generation failimg to see them.We ill only be able to hear about them i legends and stories We will also lose the chance them to find new medical cures.Docors and biologist will not be able to find to study them and find new possible cures for dideases thought to be uncurable. What a wasted opportunity for them

Havng said all this, its time we start action right now.First of all NGOs and govermets have to start taking action to stop the deforestation steps taken by MNCs to exploit the lands for the profits. This can be done by the creation of new laws to protect the forset as well as ntaional decrees. The goverment and these NGOs are also guilty in some way for allowing the MNCs to exploit the rainforets to build more settlements and buildings

We should also encourage conversation.Currently this is already done.United Nationals has seta side days for the enviroment and teh forest. However this is only the tp of the ice-berg.The trth is the meassage of deforestation need not consitute only to holidays. It can be done  commericially in ads, sponsorships and billboard signs.Comapnies can take the pro-active approach of ensuring their product is the result of the explotation of forest or its natural habitat.Companies also can donate to NGos and other charitable causes that support the act to protect the enviroment

Lastly, the wya we can help the enviroment is ourselves,we can all paly our little role by boy-cotting anyone who sells product through explotation something already mentioned as well as teaching our children that the conversation ois each and everybody's part to play. This will help to cultivate a love for our enviroment and not to be the mean bad ppl who exploit the forest

As such the problem of deforestation will decraese and we can happily-coexist wwith our enviroment on this planet the place we call home

  7. my answer is to worry about something else. lol no offence but im sure ALOT bigger problems are going to come up or already have come up in your life to worry about then that.. yeah it sucks but theres nothing you or I can do. its up to the govt and we already know they dont like to listen hahah.

  8. Here in Minnesota for every one tree that is cut down two are planted. That's a good start. We have tons of trees!!!!

  9. I THINK BLOCK CUTTING SHOULD BE THERE. IT IS THE METHOD OF CUTTING TREES IN A SPECIFIED PART OF THE FOREST WHILE TREES ARE PLANTED IN ANOTHER PART OF THE FOREST OF THE SAME SIZE. THIS CAN ENSURE SUSTAIN SUPPLY OF TIMBER AND OTHER FOREST PRODUCTS WITHOUT REDUCING THE SIZE OF THE FOREST.

  10. Plant more trees, starting by 1 a day. Then we should stop destroying forests for our selfish greeds. By destroying others home (i mean other organisms) we are cheating ourselves in this diverse world.

But actually there is no cure to deforestation. Sure people talk of reforestation; however that's not the true solution. Although replanting the forests that have been destroyed seems like a good idea, actually it does no good. Often times the new trees are not the same as the originals. Also, by the time the trees grow and mature, the soil has already lost much of the nutrients it once had. Old forests and new forests are not the same.

The only way to stop it is to stop destroying forests altogether, whatever our needs may be. Since this is totally impractical as of now, the only thing we can do is use forest products in moderation. This idea needs to be put into practice immediately. We as people should take care of this problem before it gets to the point where we can no longer fix it. The sad fact is that once the forests are gone, we won't be able to fix the damage which we have caused.

It is the actions of the human race that can make or break the future of the whole planet. It is time for all peoples to renew their commitment to live in harmony with the forests before they are lost forever.

  11. A-forestation With a larger number & magnitude

  12. my notes on deforestation, and desertification which tends to be the end result

    CAN DEFORESTATION BE STOPPED

    Almost impossible

the Indians or local people would cut everything down and burn the forrest to replace it with harmfull short term farming killing the soil in no time

expanding populations and expanding farming ,that has to keep pace with the expanding populations are very strong forces that encroach upon the rainforest's

clearing them for farming and settlement areas .

that and the giant networks of roads that have exchanged forests for asphalt all over the planet

In Mexico is a famous jungle that the Media has been trying to save for years

the Naturists ,and the government ,keep watch .laws are made for protection the wild and to forbid logging.

TV put out a series of documentaries

there are campaigns in the News papers

and all of this has not made the slightest difference

Rainforest's always are in third world countries and always in third world countries corruption and the need for money s highest

the jungle gets smaller by the day

more and more farmers move in .and burn the trees

    it is an impossible situation

as long as there is poverty and an increasing birth rate in these regions the destruction will continue

they are too easily tempted to sell of exotic animals to the unscroupelous people who buy them.for the market that exists in the USA.

we must look for ways to improve economic situations on the edges of Nature .

the only way to preserve the forrest is to devellop eco tourism under strict control that has limited acces ,and use the local people in the concept as guides ,hotel staff and get them to start home industries of artifacts .

eco tourism is the only concept that profits by a healthy back ground with out harming it

    THE FUNCTION OF FORESTS

the forrests make most of the water that we can drink or use for plant growth(sweet water)

some is condensed from the sea but that reaches only the coastel aereas .

the bulk ,comes from the forests ,and the rivers come from the rainfall which comes from the trees ,

and the trees with precipitation, feed the rivers when it is not raining and keep them running all year round.

If we kill all the trees,we kill the rivers .we kill the rain. we kill us.

the trees also absorb the heat in the day and heat up the place in the night ,so they keep the temperature confertable to live in.

in the autemn there is an excess of carbon released because of the dead organic material ,the seas and waters when cool absorb this,in the spring when the new growth requires carbo the warmer waters release it ,so in con junction with the seas and rivers the bio mass on this planet maintains a balanced atmosphere for us to breathe.

    POLUTION

now with the mass deforrestation(decrease in bio mass)coupled to the increase in carbon emissions, industrial chimneys, aerosol cans, motor cars, burning of plastics and tires to name but a few ,the carbon production by far exeeds what the bio-mass and the waters can handle, and so effect into global warming and the destruction of the ozone layers,

    REFORRESTATION

so to counter act these fatal processes we must reforrest and at the same time reduce our carbon emissions.

most governments are aware of these and many first world countries now include programs to reduce their carbon emissions.

the world bank pays large subsidies for farmers to plant trees especially a tree called Paulownia elongate carolinia, because it is one of the better ones that capture carbon.

    DESERTIFICATION

desertification is also a result of bad agricultural methods and deforrestation

in the dessert the nights are freezing cold and during the days you burn up

the sahara is growing by 7 kilometres every day.

two major desserts in northern china are growing together making one giant dessert and, causing dust storms so making thousands of people refugeese

    IN THE PAST

in the days of the dinosaurs this planet was under an aquiferus manta ,a mist that covered the entire earth ,and there were very few desserts .

Count how many there are today, and most of them are as a result of mans actions.

the sahara used to be forrests

arabia ,irak ,iran used to be fertile lands in biblical times

Ghengas Kahn burned all the forrests here and filled the well with water and so turning vast lands into dessert.

    the Spanish Armada deforested Spain

    .the Phoenician fleet deforested Lebanon

some more places are everywhere where there are or where forrests and wild life

Madagascar a botanic paradise is now destroyed

the exotic animals sold or killed ,the forest slash and burned for agriculture ,the coastal water poluted by topsoils washed fronm the denuded moutains by the rains.

many many countries in Africa (because of poverty and war as well as greedy farming )

Borneo because of the expensive timber

india ,China ,Mexico ,South Americas Amazonia,

Europe because of civilization,USA,Japan because of overpopulation,

you name it if they had lots of it ,they also lost a lot ,some places lost ALL.

it is in an Adobe print out as well on the net.

  13. Hemp.

Did you know that hemp can be made into Fuel, Clothing, and Paper?

No, you can't get high off of hemp. There is no reason we shouldn't use it. It can grow in almost any climate and doesn't require pesticide's.

It is completely renewable!!! Energy crisis over. Deforestation problem over. Pesticide and Fertilizer Run Off not an issue.

More fun facts. The first draft of the declaration was written on hemp paper. The first American flag was made of hemp. In those times Americans were encouraged to grow it so that they wouldn't have to depend on imported  hemp that they would have to pay taxes on.

Imagine what damage it would do the Lumber companies, Cotton industry, OIL COMPANIES, and Pesticide industry.

I suspect that, these are the 4 reasons this information is kept away from general knowledge. Do the research and you will see that I'm right about this.

  14. by avoiding cutting plants and growing more and more trees.govt.should took few steps to save nature.every person should plant a tree at least once a year.moreover in every schools students should encourage to plant trees .and everyone should remember this motto "Plant a tree and get oxygen free "'
