  1. 4^x = 2^(2x)

    8^y = 2^(3y)

    2^(2x) * 2^(3y) = 2

    2^(2x+3y) = 2^1

    2x+3y = 1

    3^(3x)* 3^(2*2y) = 3²

    3^(3x+4y) = 3²

    3x+4y = 2

So your system of equations is

    2x+3y = 1

    3x+4y = 2

  2. write 4^x as 2^2x ,8^y as2^3y

    2^(2x+3y)=2

    2x+3y=1

    similarly 3^(3x+4y)=3^2

    3x+4y=2

    solving x=2 y=-1
