Solve for x. State the restrictions on the variables.?

I have no clue what "state the restrictions" means. Please help? :)

1. 4/9(x+3)=g

2. a(x+c)=b(x-c)

  3. If you look at the first question. Before you even start x cannot be -3, otherwise you are dividing through by 0.
    So if in solving the answer turns out to be -3, you have to exclude it.

    In the second one, when solving, you will have to divide by (a - b).
    so clearly a cannot have the same value as b.
    If it did then c must equal 0.
