  1. quadratic formula not needed, easily factors to

    (6x -5) (5x+6)= 0

    therefore, x = 5/6 or x = -6/5

  2. There are two ways to approach this problem; Quadratic formula or factoring and using the Zero Product Property (I prefer)

    30x^2 + 11x - 30 = 0 Factor using the AC method

    30x^2 + 36x - 25x - 30 Factor 30x^2 + 36x and -25x - 30

    6x(5x + 6) - 5(5x + 6) Take out the common terms

    (5x + 6)(6x - 5) = 0 Zero Product Property

    5x + 6 = 0

    x = -6/5 ANSWER

    6x - 5 = 0

    x = 5/6 ANSWER

    Make sure you check for any extraneous solutions by substituting your final answer into the orignial equation to make sure it equals.

  3. use the almighty quadratic formula

    x=(-b+-sqrt(b^2-4ac))/(2a)

    a=30, b=11, c=-30

    x=(-11+-sqrt(3721))/60

    x=5/6 and -6/5

    make it a good day

  4. 30x^2+11x-30=0

    a=30

    b=11

    c=-30

    -11+/- sqrt 121-4(30)(-30)/60

    -11+/- sqrt 121+3600/60

    -11+/- sqrt 3721/60

    -11+/- 61/60

    x=-72/60 =-6/5 or 5/6= 50/60
