  1. X= √(3x+7) - 3 Add 3 to both sides

    X + 3= √(3x+7) Square both sides (times them by themselves)

    (x+3)(x+3) = √(3x+7) • √(3x+7)

    x^2 + 6x + 9 = 3x + 7

    .......-3x - 7.....-3x - 7

    x^2 + 3x + 2 = 0 reverse FOIL

    (x+2)(x+1) = 0 so x = -2 or x = -1

    Now check by plugging these in; both may work, or just one , or neither
