  1. When you rearrange,you get X^2 - 10X +2=0

    X=[+10 + or - (100-8)^1/2] /  2          X=9.79583 & X=0.20417

  2. 2x-10

  3. x^2 - 3x = 7x - 2 (subtract 7x from both sides and add 2 to both sides)

    x^2 - 3x - 7x + 2 = 0 (combine like terms)

    x^2 - 10x + 2 = 0

    The general form of an equation is ax^2 + bx + c = 0, so in this equation a = 1, b = -10, and c = 2. Substitute into the quadratic formula:

    [-b +/- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac)]/2a

    [-(-10) +/- sqrt(-10^2 - 4(1)(2))]/2(1)

    [10 +/- sqrt(100 - 8)]/2

    (10 +/- sqrt92)/2

    x = (10 + sqrt92)/2 or x = (10 - sqrt92)/2

    x = about 9.8 or x = about 0.2 <===ANSWER

  4. no you can't just rearrange it, you have to get rid of one side, and make one side of the equation be =0. so to do that, you do the opposite. so for 7x you subtract 7x from both sides and add 2 from both sides. then you get x^2-10x+2=0. the equation is now in ax^2+bx+c=0 form. the quadratic formula is on the page below me, right under where its says quadratic formula. you just plug everything in double check
