  1. All these questions can be solved if you know a single concept: "what you do to one side, you've to do to the other side."

    E.g. -m/8=5/8

    Times 8 to both sides: -m = 5

    Times -1 to both sides: m = -5

  2. 1. h/3 = - 2

    h = - 6

    2. 1/8m = 6

    m = 48

    3. 1/5p = 3/5

    p = 3/5(5)

    p = 3

    4. 5 = y/12

    y = 60

    5. - 1/4k = - 2.5

    k = 10

    6. - m/8 = 5/8

    m = - 5

    1. 2x = 4y

    y = 1/2x

    2. 6 + y = 8

    y = 2

    3. 4x - 2y = - 1

    2y = 4x + 1

    y = 2x + 1/2

    4. 3xy + 8 = 4y

    3xy - 4y = - 8

    y(3x - 4) = - 8

    y = - 8/(3x - 4)

    5. 3x - 4 = 12

    3x = 16

    x = 16/3

    6. y = x² + 7

    7. y - 4x = 9

    y  = 4x + 9

    8. x + 8 = 0

    x = - 8

    9. - 2x + 3 = 4y

    y = - 1/2x + 3/4
