  1. education..

I live near a lake and our lake is huge but its being killed by ignorant people using c**p to keep their lawns green..

my lawn is perfectly green and I dont put anything on it.. and if it wasnt perfect, I wouldnt mind...

  2. The key word here is cosmetic - there are many ways to make a "pretty" environment without pesticides. Alternatives to pesticides may include hand weeding, soil aeration or planting some natural plants naturally repel pests. Another thing to consider however, is education - the answer may not lie in eliminating pesticide use completely. Instead, most people apply more pesticide than is needed, and this is what leads to waterway contamination, so it might be more effective to simply teach people that sometimes, less is more.

  3. I would find alternative chemicals that weren't toxic to do the same thing.
