  1. 1) x1=3  x2=-2

    2) x1= - 4    x2= - 2

    3) x1= - 4    x2=5/2=2.5

    4)x1,2=(3+_sqrt41)/4

    5) x1,2=(2+_sqrt5)/3

  2. For example:

    3.  20 = 2x^2 + 3

    Rewrite into standard decreasing exponent form:

    2x^2 + 0x - 17 = 0

    Notice that one side of the equation must equal zero

    x = [0 +/- [0 - (4)(2)(-17)]^0.5]/(2)(2)

    x = +/- [136^0.5]/4

    x = +/- 2.87

  3. I ******* hate it when people put their homework on.

    You could ask for help or an example, but no. You actually expect me to do your homework for you!

  4. you should try this, I'm too tired to help sorry... night everyone... http://www.purplemath.com/modules/solvqu...
