  1. 7y+4=3-2y

        -4  -4

    7y=-1-2y

    +2y   +2y

    5y= -1

    divide by 5 on both sides and answer should be -1/5

  2. 7y+4=3-2y

    -4        -4

    7y=-1-2y

    +2y  +2y

    9y=-1

    divide by 9 on both sides

    y=-1 over 9

    first guy did 7-2 instead of 7+2, thats why he got -1 over 5

  3. 7y+4=3-2y

    +2y    +2y

    9y+4=3

        -4  -4

    9y=-1

    divide by 9 on both sides your answer should be -1/9

    the first person sutracted the 2y instead of adding it so dont go with that answer

  4. What bria_sullivan said but you add 2y to 7y not subtract to get 9y not 5y. so -1/9.

    Also, I'm only in geometry and i took algebra last year so if that's algebra 2 next year will be easy.

  5. Heh, I love algebra :P It should go like this.

    7y+4=3-2y

    ....-3..-3

    This crosses out the 3 and subtract -3 to 4 which =1

    7y+1=-2y

    You can't subtract 2y to 7y because you can't cross out the 2y, something has to stay on each side of the = sign.

    7y+1=-2y

    -7y.....-7y

    7y-7y crosses it out, Y is gone.

    1=-9y     -2-7 addes up to negative 9. You must get rid of the y so divide it by -9 on both sides

    1=-9y

    -9.-9

    Now Cross out the 9 0n the right and your results for the answer should be  ******-1/9=y******

    Or you could do it the other way around, Subtract 4 instead of 3, or 7y instead of 2y, but be sure there is a "=" sign. I just go with the simplest way to do it. Hoped this helped!

  6. THAT'S Algebra 2? Geez, I'm going to have an easy year.
