  1. Is that supposed to be arctan(sqrt3)? If so, it's not that bad.

    Tan of what angle is sqrt3? Well, that's 60 degrees, or pi/3 radians.

  2. arctan x = sqrt(3)

      x = tan [sqrt(3)]

      x = ?

  3. arctan x = sqrt(3)

    x=pi/3

  4. When you need to find arcxxx, they want you to find the angle which has the solution...

    so

    if you have   sqrt(3), think of a right triangle...  with 1, 2, sqrt(3) as it's sides and hypotnuse..   tangent angles are opposite side divided by adjacent side.

    so you know the opposite side of the triangle is sqrt(3), and the adjacent side is one.

    if you're family with the 30, 60 degree triangle, you'll know that it's the 60 degree triangle.

    if not, you may punch in the  calculator.

    so 60 degree is also pi/3   (and multiples of it)

    good luck
