Question:

Some MS Office products won't start, how do I fix that?

I know it was a bad idea; but I recently installed the XP SP3 in my laptop, since then, I cannot launch Excel or Powerpoint, Word works fine.

I went to Program Files/Office and the files are still there. If I double click on them, nothing happens, just a quick appearance of the sand clock and that's it. I tried to find an answer on MS website, but I didn't have any luck; can someone help me out?

Thanks

  1. Boot up your PC in "safe mode", go to "add remove programs" in the control panel, remove SP3...restart and u r good to go.

U can also call MS support and they will guide u through removing SP3 for free.

  2. i was acyually going to say the samething on the person above me. if that doesint work you can always uninstall it, and then go to the website and download everything.

if that still doesint work, make a full system recovery, you know, like delete everythings, it wipes out your whole computer, so its like if you barely got it.

  3. it could be virus o malware o spyware u try reinstall o u scan virus and spyware. good luck

  4. Try reinstalling MS Office..

  5. open word, help - detect and repair, or... navigate to the start-allprograms-msoffice in there you will find tools for diagnosing the issues and repairing them.  all else fails, reinstall office
