  1. a) "2 to the k rule"   ANSWER:  5 classes

    Procedure:

    Select the smallest number 2^k (2 to the k) greater than n (number of observations) [2^5 = 32 > 20 observations, k = 5]

    b) "class interval"  ANSWER: interval width = 3

    Procedure:

    Determine the class interval or width (class interval [i] should be same for all classes):

    i >= (H - L) / k [3]  (5 classes of interval width 3)

    H = HIGHEST OBSERVED VALUE [39]

    L = LOWEST OBSERVED VALUE [18]

    c) Frequency Distribution
