  1. That our country finally made it into the finals and a silver medal is guaranteed.

We have not had this chance for 48yrs and since our independance.

all citizens should be proud when they see their country flag flying high up for all the world to watch.

this is what we're proud of.

  2. they got a medal. that is what i am proud of

  3. Because they won a medal...do YOU have an Olympic Medal? It certainly is something to be proud about, no matter what the event is.

  4. and just what is wrong with it??? You know athletes who get to compete in the olympics should be proud to be representing their country. These ppl work and train so hard just so they can win smth for their country. Unlike some countries, i don't think it matters what medal they get, cos out of so many competitors, they got smth. So why shouldnt they be happy about it???

  5. Singapore is an city-state on a small island. Their population is mostly Chinese, with Indian and Malay influences. Their entire country is basically just a single city...

They're a small country - are you expecting Cuba or the Puerto Rico territories to win a lot of medals?

  6. What's there to be proud of?

In actual fact, our first silver medallist hails from China as well. but that's not the reason why i m not proud of them.

If you want to talk about pride, look no further then the Ethiopians, Erithreans, Rwandans, etc. These are people running for their countries, their countrymen.

These people are paid nuts but they do so whole heartedly. for what?? for bringing some smiles and joy back to their ravage torn countrymen. Now this is what i call sporting passion. not for the money but for happiness within the country.

Frankly speaking, i am not even bothered about Phelps and Guo JingJing hauls in the olympic, let alone Li JiaWei and Co winning the silver medal. They are paid in millions and it would be a catastrophe if they do not get any medals.

What's with this world? of the whole table tennis competition, 70% of the people playing are born in China. Is winning a medal so important these days that every country just seek to import in foreigners to perform for namesake? have we forgotten about the simple joy of watching some refugee kids smile?

That's why i'm rooting for countries like Ethiopia, Erithrea, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, etc in this olympic and not my motherland Singapore.

  7. Have you ever watched Olympic level table tennis. It is absolutely insane. Every time I see it, I'm just amazed by the speed and accuracy at which the game is played. While it may not have the tradition of sports like swimming and track & field, an Olympic medal in table tennis is certainly something to be proud of.

  8. LiJiaWei came from China(Beijing) and she was Singaporean, what so proud about that?

  9. Victor98 .. you came from your mother's p.u.s.s.y, what's so proud about that ?

  10. I am a Singaporean but i am definitely not proud of it.

What do you have to say about that?

Are you an American or belong to a country which do not have a medal?

If you are an American, i could not say much.

    You know what i mean

If you are from a country which do not have a medal, then it means you're jealous. Thats all.

  11. proud?

sad to be exact. they r either sleeping or brainwashed by the stupid government who wasted their money.
