  1.   With all due respect, and not strictly related to ACTING at all, your question relating to being young, suggesting College, should be your course of action, No Matter. I also assume that someone 17 probably doesn't want a full time job, even if they are available.

Define "Was Going"??? Did you complete the course, 16, 18 months perhaps? Get licensed or certified? My daughter went through it, got her license and chose to Not make it a career. You could use that to your advantage in connecting with studios, as a Non Actor.

With no details as to other interests you have, or what you plan in a College sense, we can only generalize here. Any education is a good thing, and Fall back is what everyone on the planet is doing at the moment.

      Define "Big Break"???

While wiping tables at the Hollywood Waffle House, and moving to a Beverly Hills mansion, might not quite be a complete myth, it is definitely a cliche.

Obviously those who wipe tables have an agenda. #1 they look for work at some place frequented by actors/ producers/ Directors/ etc. OR,,, They have no other valid skills, and even in Murphyville, Arkansas, would still be wiping tables.

College would afford anyone various options, beyond just getting an education. It affords you the ability to still conduct other life business, no matter your passions, network and socialize with others, possibly with the same dreams, work at jobs you can find, or wish to seek, etc.

At some point in a mature life, I suspect it should be expected that Life is a full time job, and part of filling that time is likely going to revolve around survival and income.

You may still be too young to know anything about a 5 or 10 year plan for your life, but you will hopefully define and nurture your passions, even if you have to work otherwise.

"Image Consultant" no real offense, but does anyone truly need one to know how they feel about themselves? We don't all walk around as Glamor Shots, nor does everyone need to learn from a consultant how to dress for success, or use makeup for a Big Break. I just find the title very nebulous.

With the state of the global economy as it is, I suspect "Image" might become far less important than hunting/gathering.
