  1. No, there have been medical studies that prove that red wine is good for your heart and your circulation. That doesn't mean that it should be given to kids.

People in countries that consume alot of wine like France and Italy have fewer problems with cholesterol and heart disease.

  2. no this is indeed fact its something to do with antioxidents,

  3. My understanding is grape juice has some of the same capabilities but the antioxident properties and health benefits get more potent with the fermentation.

  4. Thirty years ago wine was unknown or nearly in the US - now it's a big deal of $, just like the incredible mass of teens and older people rushing on boozing and hangovers -

Concerning wine, "french paradox" in which wine was one of the main components, was the best propaganda ever in order to make wine popular in a country of beer or coke drinkers - Each time you have to promote or destroy food or drinks, find high-flight so-called scientists and make them write what you want for xxxxxxxxxxxxx$ - they'll do it  - and some years later, if a better sum, will write the exact contrary -

But "Wine is good for your health" was a real gem of propaganda - when I see how people speak about drinking in the US - scares me - omg - where's the health in all that ?

Now let's go unto the end - the advantage which was found to

(red) wine was the presence of antioxydants forbidding greases to spread in arterias and coronarians - yes but this was said for one glass, once a day - consider how people drink and the horrors that they eat in the US and the  "paradox" will spring back from France back to tragical America -

You cannot find alibis for drinking wine, ignoring how many pesticides and fertilizers have been used for it, and at the same time eat the way US eat - sugar, grease, trash-food, no meals, no veggies etc etc -

The real pattern is not be found in France but in Creta

( Greek Island ) where people eat daily with very few variations :

Dry bread, olive oil, tomatoes, goat cheese, one glasswine a day, and meat only at Christmas, Eastern etc -

+ : In Creta, vehicles are very scarce and people walk  -

  5. No. There are too many studies about the benefits of moderate amounts of wine and beer, each making the others more likely to be right. Look at the sources of funding for the studies. Are they funded by the wine industry?

  6. No, because there are numerous studies about the health benefits of drinking red wine (in moderation).  By moderation, we're talking a glass or two.  Similar studies show benefits from dark beer as well.

To that...many doctors will recommend having one drink per day (including distilled spirits).

The key word is moderation.  Coming home from work, and relaxing with a glass of wine is a good thing (as part of living a healthy lifestyle).

  7. no, i don't think they're upset about the study, but i think it's valid. in moderation a glass of red wine or a dark beer are good for you.
