  1. I  get the impression from two of these answers that the same is going on with two of the people answering.

    FREELOADERS.

Your word BAS****D isn't strong enough.

I bet they are on benefits, use Limewire & don't have a TV license either.

Encrypt your system & stop these parasites.

Get your instruction manual out & it should tell you all you need to know or go to the website of the makers of your equipment & look up encryption.

    Good Luck

  2. Hi

Awe c'mon, don't be stingy they might be poor.

    Ray. West York's. U.K.

  3. try askin them to stop or something

  4. sorry dont know about that, but u can get software to catch them and then report them and they get fined or something

  5. Log into your router and set secruity and put a password. On the router page it will also show the person computer name that is using ur network as well as there mac address so you could report them to police XD

  6. how do you now that?

  7. If you have wireless any near you can pick it up so you cant do anythink about it im sorry to say .

  8. b*****d?

    Is you LAN password protected?

    Do you broadcast your SSID?

If you answer yes to any of the above questions, you are just as guilty.  My guess is that if someone is, it's by accident.

  9. You need to go to the websight of the maker of your router.. they will give to tech support and show you how.. they have a special section in which you can encrypt... make sure you go to TECH support...

  10. These are settings for Linksys router but i think they all are similar.

Go to your router ip address, enter the default password 'admin' if you have not yet set one of your own, leave the user name blank.

Click-on the Wireless tab and then click on Wireless Security

    enter the followings

    Security Mode----------WPA2 Personal

    WPA Alogorithms-----TKIP+AES

WPA Shared Key------enter a 10 digit number and NOTE it well

    finally Save Settings

  11. whats the big deal......as long as they are not downloading massive files the effect on your interenet speed will be negligable

  12. What is your wireless router? If you know your router's IP address. Point your internet browser to your router's IP address and then log in. Most likely the default login is still in place so log in with that. Then go to wireless configuration and turn on WPA encryption. Apply a WPA key. You want this instead of WEP because it still more secure and takes more combination of keys to crack. You will then need this key you created to connect your wireless card on your laptop or PC to the router.

  13. The only to completely stop it is to use a direct wired connection and stop using wireless broadband. Can't see the point of wireless because it is wide open. Might as well leave your front door wide open and leave a notice "Come in and take what you want". Same thing!

  14. 1.  download the manual from the manufacturer.

    2.  read it.

    3.  reset the router to defaults, then set it up, encrypted, per the manual.

    4. make sure you put an adminstrator password on.

  15. 1. get out the manual for the router (you have a router, I assume)

    2. read directions on setting up WPA encryption. WEP isn't that strong.

    3. Set it up, reboot the router.

You'll have to use the WPA key you set up in your computers to connect yourself. That should be in the manual as well.

If you don't have a manual, go to the router manufacturer's web site and get one for free.
