  1. Vane...I have questions for you...

    1. Does your teacher know you consistently put your math and science quizzes on this web site so others can give you the answers?

    2. Do you care that this is cheating?

    3. Do you think your teacher will care that you are cheating?

    4. If you always cheat...never try to do the work yourself...will you ever learn enough to get a good job or will you be asking..."Would you like fries with your order?" for the rest of your life?  (no offence to burger flippers...)

Show me documented proof that your teachers think this is acceptable...(ie a letter with a school email address to reply to from your teachers) and I will personally anwer every biology question you get for the rest of the year....otherwise...STOP CHEATING AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

  2. 1 is haploid and 2 is 23 chromosomes i think cuz the egg and the sperm add together to maket eh diploid?  i think

  3. Meiosis is involved in the formation of gametes. Gametes are important in sexual reproduction. Explain.

ANSWER : Meiosis produces four, genetically different, haploid gametes for sexual reproduction. Variation during Meiosis is brought about by Crossing over of adjacent chromatids during Prophase I and random assortment of homologous chromosomes along the equator of the spindle during Metaphase I. This means that the gamete chromosomes will have a combination of genes from both parents ie variation.

Variation is important to species survival as thoffspringng will be better equipped to adapt to changes in their environment. (eg. If all the offsping were genetically identical they could all be wiped out by the emergence of a new disease or dramatic climatic change.)

  4. 7.diploid cells

    8. 23 chromosomes

  5. Meiosis produces haploid cells; in animals these are sperm and egg cells, which contain a set of haploid chromosomes. At fertilization two gametes combine to produce a zygote with a full diploid set of chromosomes. Random events during meiosis, known as independant assortment and crossing over, mean that each gamete produced gets a unique combination of parental genes.

    7. Haploid cells

    8. The egg cell of a goldfish contains 23 chromosomes.

  6. Well I can't tell you the answer to the first two questions, but the last one is 'The egg cell of a goldfish contains 23 chromosomes'.
