  1. The first thing I have to say is that you MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE riding bikes, but mostly, you must respect the bike and it's unbelieveable power! This bike can hit 100mph in less than 200yds. My son wrecked one last year, he is lucky to be alive. Sure you will get decent mileage, but sports bikes are not meant to get you around town instead of driving a car, they are built for speed and they do that very well. If you want a daily driver, I wouldn't go with the R1.

  2. If it really floats your boat, and you are tired of the razor-sharp handling of the sport bike you have been riding for TWO OR MORE YEARS already, and it matches your FULL LEATHERS and FULL FACE HELMET, then by all means go for it.

Mileage will not be as good as your well-worn 600cc motorcycle, though.  Expect to drop about 8-10mpg from your supersport motorcycle's economy.

You HAVE been riding for a few years already, right?

  3. man...

i u r thinking about super bikes... forget about MPG...

You can lean tune a R1 can get good MPG but it will move like a Moped....

R1 is the 3rd fastest super bike (after Ducati and Aprilia)

Go for it. its a cool in-line 4 bike.

  4. river is incorrect

R1 will get between 40 and 50 mpg depending on how you ride...

take it easy and keep the revvs low, you'll be fine...

  5. If you want good fuel economy get a 600 or 750. 1000 are pretty good on gas but they drink when get on it. The R1 is a fast bike, NOT A BEGINNER BIKE..... Do some research sit on a few and make sure you take some type of Motorcycle training course.
