  1. If it is indeed a safety feature then I believe rear window wipers would be a standard feature on all cars. Some cars just don't need them - those with a rear extension called a boot. The 'additional structure' on most saloon cars acts as a shield to the recycling airflow that carries water particles churned up by the rear wheels when the car travels through wet surfaces. Any vehicle that is designed without a boot eg mini hatches, SUVs, MPVs definitely need them for obvious reasons.

  2. Frankly, it is because the car engineer, designer and manufacturer decided not to.

  3. some cars have 4 headlights

  4. It depends on how the vehicle is designed..........

  5. Mostly it's a matter of cost and the physical dimensions of the rear windscreen.

If the car is a sedan, chances are that there is no need for a rear windscreen wiper because they are usually quite small and at such an angle that the water will just run straight off.

Most hatchbacks or similar have quite large, sloping, rear windscreens and water doesn't run off these as well. In these cases, a wiper can be useful.

However, even in cases where a rear wiper would be of use, sometimes, on very cheap cars, they don't have them in order to cut costs.

    Hope this helps.

  6. Some cars don't need them as the airflow over the car carries the water away.....
