  1. To hit the line you need

    1> a good approach;

    2> a good vertical;

    3> a perfect twist of your wrist or a "turn" of your body in the air.

    You need to snap your wrist harder to keep the ball inbound, and a good follow through would definitely help.

    Most importantly, you need to keep your eyes and mind open :)

  2. Heyy! I know what you mean! Some practices I hit line every time, others I couldn't hit line at all! I figured out that my problem what I needed to adjust my approach and start out on a different spot on the court (not too much different than where I normally would start my approuch from) and I made sure that I snapped my wrist sraight down.  Since I changed where I started my approach, I perfectly lined up where my arm would kind of naturally swing at, and it goes line! so maybe if you just figure out a different spot to hit from, you can hit line, too! :o)

  3. be confident in your self to do better and try harder

  4. make sure that you get your approach right, and face the line,  when you become more pro at it , you could face cross court and turn your wrist to the left a bit to make sure it goes down the line.

    good luck! practice makes perfect

  5. The thing that worked for me was that i came in from an angle to see the whole court first and when u do ur approach and in the air TWIST ur upper body towards line giving u a lot of momentum meaning more power down the line. swing on top of the ball and ur set.

    good luck hopefully i helped

  6. nope just line up your shoulders and have a straight swing and follow threw. but some days r like that

  7. I know what you mean, sometimes it's difficult to be consistent in volleyball, but it's really important to do so.

    I would reccomend lots of practice, not going through the motions but actually taking the time, slowly, to get the motions down pat.

    On those days that you can't hit down the line, you can maybe shoot it down there, or find another spot that's weak in the opposing defense, there's almost always more than one weak spot.

  8. Ok. Since we're not playing baseball like the guy above me thinks....

    I say work on your swing. Make sure to snap toward the direction your want the ball to go. With enough practice, it will come in time. Perhaps alter your approach a little two. Try possibly closing your body to the net just a little bit when you go oup for your jump.

  9. Not quite sure how a batting tee will help you hit line. Let's work on that Volleyball swing huh? :)

    When you want to hit line, you need to be patient, if you swing at a set early, you will almost always hit it cross (The most natural and common spike for an OH). If you let the ball come across your body a little, you will hit line. While in the air, concentrate on letting the ball come to you, turn your shoulders so they are parallel to the net and swing at the ball.

    The ball should be in line with your shoulder on a line shot Your shoulders are very important. Your shoulders naturally face towards the incoming set and if you keep them there, you will hit cross. If you turn your shoulders before hitting line so that your shoulders a parallel to the net, you will hit a powerful line shot.

    Hope that helps.

  10. a lot of times it depends on the set and some sets you just cannot hit line! also if the blockers are doing their job they sould be protecting the line forcing you to hit cross court.... but if everything is right make sure your not coming at to harsh of an angle because it makes it hard to rotate your hips and shoulder to the line come in more dirctly and swing straight to where you want the ball to go

  11. batting tee. at least 50 swings a day. 100 swings is better.

    follow a routine as you step into the box.

    you probably already do. deep breath, let it out

    when the ball is pitched. watch it hit the bat....and

    find the gap - it's a double.

  12. its all about consistancy. always keep your shoulder square to the net swing high and make sure to aim deep corners. hope that helps

  13. stop drinking beer on the days you cant hit well, youll see a big diff!

  14. It all depends on which way your hips and shoulders are facing. Try to snap your wrist in the direction of the line. Good Luck!!

  15. 1st off, many players have trouble hitting line, so your not alone. When hitting line, make sure to turn toward the line,  REACH for the ball, and snap your wrist. Wherever your shoulder is facing 9x's out of 10 that's where the ball is going to go.

  16. oh my gosh i have the same problem and my coach gets pissed at me for it. ok so to hit line take your first step of your approach towards the setter than the last two regular. it helps me soo much ! hope that works for you!
