  1. Blood pressure actually rises while you are playing, not only tennis but in any other sport that demands physical activity. This is attributed to increased physical activity and hence, increased pressure to pump blood. BP returns to normal after playing. But the overall effect is good, otherwise all tennis pros suffer from hypertension

  2. It probably depends on how you play tennis.  I think it would be possible for tennis to contribute to high blood pressure.  I think it would be more likely that tennis helps reduce high blood pressure.  The physical activity is also stress relieving and the exercise strengthens the body and mind.  The person who has high blood pressure probably did not get that condition from tennis.  Some people do need to relax more in tennis, and enjoy the game more.  Win or lose, its a game.  Pressure is a privilege, that gives us the opportunity to excel.  Losing is no fun, but I've learned more from my losses than my wins.  People will still believe what they want to believe, and seek 2nd opinions, till hear what they want to hear.

  3. I doubt it. Unless you stress out big time during a game like Marat.

  4. Well, while you are playing it might but it should increase fitness and health overall.

  5. did he elaborate on it or anything? if that was really dangerous or that it probably wouldn't be such a bad thing afterward? i ask because,if that's really true, imagine what the obesity epidemic could truly be like in this world,by making such a claim. i mean, how dare that doctor make such a general statement like that when there is so much unhealthiness and INactivity in america. and every doctor i've ever heard, says it's one of the best physical activities for a healthy heart.
