Some facts about travelling for the tennis tournaments by Alejandro Falla 
The international tennis tour is not about the Grand Slam Tournaments only. In this month circuit, VF.com goes out of sight at the championships that pave the way for the United States Open tournament in the month of August.
Thirty two of the ATP’s best contested in Newport at the Hall of Fame Tennis championship about seven days ago. According to him, passing time while waiting for the plane at the airport can be even destructive at times.
“I have missed a flight on a number of occasions while travelling for participating in the tennis tournaments. I was with my compatriot Santiago Giraldo, and we were supposed to leave for Indianapolis. It was so bloody boring, we killed our time by watching films on the laptop while waiting for the airplane to arrive and the interesting thing is that we didn’t even notice when did the plane came and so we missed our flights and then again waited for as long as six hours for our next flight”, Falla added.
Falla normally while travelling take Santiago as well as his coach from Spain with him. The three of them travel all round the world. When asked about the travel baggage, Falla replied by saying that, “I always carry two bags with me, one for the rackets and the other one for the clothing”.
While commenting on the overweight luggage, Falla smilingly commented by saying that, “ paying that extra money is no less than a hallucination for tennis players as we have to manage it on our own as well”.
Moreover, the toughest part about travelling for playing is that players remain away from their family for weeks. Falla’s entire family also resides in Naples and according to him; he misses all his friends and family to a great extent all through his international tours.
“Yet the best part of travelling is that when you focus on your game being away from your family and eventually wins a match, the feeling is completely out mind blowing. Moreover, a player while travelling for work from one place to another gets familiar of different traditions, people as well as places. So it feels great in that sense as well”, Falla added.
According to Falla, “ when we are contesting in our most darling tournaments like the Grand Slams, you simply do not think of anything else in the world as it has so much attraction for a tennis player that forces you to play better and win it”.
