Some friends of mine have invited me on a road trip across the USA; where will I find the best coarse fishing?

PS, I believe their plan is to start in the north east (NYC) and drive a 'W' shape across the mainland, ending up in the north west. I should also note that I am a beginner.

Always wondered what you guys meant when you said "coarse fishing", just looked it up, and I still wonder, but it seems to me like it's just what I call "fishing". All over the place, just make sure you've got fishing licenses... we don't have any that cover all over the place, so you'll have to get one in nearly every state you stop to fish. Some states are reciprocal... if you have a fishing license from say, North Carolina, I believe you can fish in Tennessee and South Carolina, so make sure of that before you go off buying another fishing license. And to make things simple, just stop at a WalMart and find the fishing supplies... they can print you out a license for whatever state you're in.

Freshwater fishing is one of you biggest options, in-fact we have some great lakes from bass to alligator gar you can find them in most of our fresh water rivers and lakes, obviously without knowing your exact path i cant give you any specific lakes, here in MT the fly fishing i also brilliant if you want to give it a try, i understand that coarse fishing just means general fresh water fishing, then there's game fishing e.g fly fishing for trout then there's carp fishing just for well...carp, hopefully this will clear up your problems gimmeanamenow? also make sure you get the correct licenses from wal-mart etc, also the style of fishing may be a little different to what your used to, we use allot more lures by rapala, berkley etc etc, stores to look out for on your trip are walmart, cabelas and bass pro. This might give you some info on the gear we use, that way you can see any difference.
