  1. I order everything from discountdance.com

They have the largest selection on the web, and its all 25-50 percent off price! I've never even had to go to a dance store because they have charts for each individual item telling you what size to order, they let customers make reviews so you know if the product is worth it or not which helps you from buying something that won't fit right or will tear easyly.

Also, if you are starting ballet and don't know if you have a dress code or not, just get a plain black camisole leotard, pink convertable tights, and pink bloch pumps ballet shoes.

    Hope I helped!

  2. Three things you MUST have-- tights, leotard, and a set of ballet slippers.

It should fit well, not baggy.

Your studio should tell you what you need. (:

  3. the essentials ( and a few extras) are:

    - leotard

    -stockings

    -ballet,/tap/jazz shoes

    -body stocking

    -skirt

    -tight shorts

    -bun nets

    -legwarmers are cute too

energetiks and bloch stock really good dancewear.

  4. You must have the essentials, these include ballet shoes or pointe shoes is necessary. A leotard, and pink ballet tights. Some good things also are tight dancing shorts and a tight singlet. You could also get leg warmers, nitted shorts, or any type of warm up gear. But usually for class you are only allowed to wear a leo, shoes and tights.

    xx

  8. If you are a dancer who performs in many shows, here are some must haves:

    - black leotard

    - pink footless tights

    - pink canvas or leather ballet shoes (canvas is better tho)

    - second skin

    - Hair Stuff (Bobby pins, gel, hairnet)

    - Pink Pointe Shoes (If you are on pointe)

    - black shorts

    - stage make up

For ballet shoes, the two best brands are capezio and bloch

  9. things from toe to toe dance wear

  10. I suppose it depends on if there is a dress code.  Traditionally you're looking for leotard, pink tights and slippers.  Canvas slippers always did me fine but it is best to get fitted for them at a shop.  Technically you could wear anything that allows freedom of movement and fits snug to the skin (so your instructor can see your muscles and make sure you do it right).

As far as brands go Capezio has been a standard for a long time but I wouldn't feel a need to stick to that except maybe for the shoes.
