  1. My favorite healthy snack is homemade Trail Mix using a combination of any or all of the following:

    Dried cranberries - Craisins

    Dried cherries

    Dates

Fancy Mixed Nuts - salted or unsalted, your choice

    Shelled Pistachio Nuts

    Dried Mango

    Dried Papaya

    Coconut flakes

    M&Ms

    Banana chips

    Apple chips

    Dried Peaches

    Dried Blueberries

    Dried Pineapple

    Granola

Mix everything together and keep in a sealed container or ZipLock bags to keep fresh. If you want to cover it with chocolate or white chocolate, spread it out on a large baking sheet and pour the melted chocolate over the trail mix mixture and stir well to mix and cover.

Keep some fresh fruit and/or veggies already cleaned and prepared in your fridge ready for you to just grab and eat.  You can have things like sliced pineapple, grapes, cantaloupe, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, oranges, Mineolas, watermelon, etc for the fruit and baby carrots, celery sticks, cherry or grape tomatoes, broccoli and cauliflower florettes, sliced bell peppers - red, green, yellow and orange, sliced cucumbers, etc. for the veggies with some salad dressing for dipping.

  3. Zoe's web site has some very good healthy recipes

  4. Blackcurrants--have more antioxidants, vitamins and minerals than virtually any other fruit.  And scientists have discovered they contain chemicals that prevent Alzheimer's disease by protecting the cells in the brain responsible for learning and memory!

Hawthorne berries--They're study-proven to regulate blood pressure and break down cholesterol.  And the berries also prevent heart problems by protecting arteries from plaque!

Canadian Bacon--2 slices have about 87 calories and 4 grams of fat.
