Some good old pc games?

Question

I just came across this game called stronghold crusaders which runs on my old p3 computer. It is a gem of a game. So I was wondering what other old pc games are out there that I might have missed. I am taking about before 2002 games like age of empires 2 red alert 2, starcraft. Any recommendations

Half-Life is a great game if you haven't already played it. It also has a number of expansions which are all worth playing (like opposing force, and blue shift). You can get them all bundled together in a store (if you can find one that carries them), or download them on Steam (Valve's online store). It's a first person shooter though, so you may not like it.

If you want RTS specifically, then the only thing I can think of is the Command and Conquer games. Red Alert is a part of that series, so you'll probably enjoy them. I think Red Alert may have been the best of all of them though (I'm not sure, I don't particularly care for RTS).

Medieval: Total War, and Rome: Total War are great strategy games. Rome came out a couple years after your specified date though. They have real time battles, but mostly focus on strategy.
