Question

i am a very very industrial type of guy and i love wood!

i can make so many things with it! but know after all the little

things i want to make a rifle crossbow i mean......

ok i get a piece of plywood and carve the rifle butt out of it

and make that..... i get a wooden dowel rod and super glue it to the butt. lol funny i know! ok.... then i take a super long drill bit and drill all the way through the butt to the rod. ohh

gosh that sounded nasty...... then i get a rubber band and tape it over the hole out the butt and i get a BBQ skewer and put

it through the rod and bull back on the rubber band to make it fire!!! yay! now the question part..ok but i live i chandler az and i want to know if there is such a thing as a foot long drill bit

and were can i get me one?? and were can i find a one inch

thick dowl rod? like a big wood tube? and were can i find one?

plz answer!!! plz!!

As a former Gunsmith the design you describe will only hurt you not the target. More research is recommended before you start building a crossbow.  you can carve you stock, but redesign the bow before you get an ambulance ride. The stress of launching a bolt is greater than any wooden dowel is going to take, real ones are made up of several different types of wood doved together and locked to take the stress and not shatter.
