  1. eat animal crackers!!! lol!

  2. Try to incorporate soy based products. Veggie burgers, veggie sandwiches, etc. Make sure you're still getting all the nutrients you get from meat, or you'll regret it later. Being vegetarian isn't healthy if you don't do it right. Try pita bread/hummus, all the middle eastern stuff you can eat without meat, or try replacing the meat with veggie meat.

  3. Lots of soy based foods are great for vegetarians. Even if you don't like tofu now, you probably will down the road. Lots of people try and eat it straight out of the package. That's just nasty, it needs to be cooked, seasoned and mixed with things.

Indian, Italian, Japanese and Mexican cuisine all have great things for vegetarians. One of the great things about not eating meat is that you find out other great foods from other cultures.

You can always bring sandwiches to school.  You need lots of veggies, that way it is pretty much a salad in a piece of bread. Pita pockets are also good.

Veggie soups, whole fruits or fruit salad, veggie sushi, veggie burgers, pasta, pizza, bean burritos, fajitas, lentils and rice, hummus, there are all sorts of foods you can eat.

There is a book I picked up a few years ago when I first became a vegetarian, I think it will help you out a lot and it has a bunch of great recipes. It also has a section for parents to understand why you chose this lifestyle.

You can get it used for $3, what a deal.

--- I had Subway today and I will tell you what I got on my sandwich to give you a bit of an idea what you can do with yours. Lots of lettuce, cucumbers, olives, pickles, onions, spinach and pepperjack cheese. You could also get tomatoes, peppers or cabbage. If you are going to be eating dairy still, experiment with different cheeses. Feta is great on salads or in pita sanwiches.

  4. yer um i wouldn't listen hellenic storm coz you can't get sick from a vegetarian diet. if you are iron deficient buy a cast iron fry pan and the food you eat will be enriched with iron! trust me,  i was now thats what i use!

and with tofu i hate tofu, but if you freeze it and then defrost it, it sometimes tastes better just be sure to marinade or season or even make a stir fry outa it! oh yeah and don't eat it raw ughhh!

just make sure you maintain a balanced diet!

  5. Beans are very good for u.......I am spanish and I eat a lot of beans....lol they are packed with alot of Protien and there really good for eating instead of meat. There are these products that I use when I go on the Daniels Fast......Im Pentecostal and I fast alot.....but the Daniels fast is like beong a vegetarian and I will do it for 2 or 3 months at a time. I get this product called Morning Star. At Walmart it will be in ur frozen section. They have Hot Dog, Grounded meat.....so u can make chili or tocos or Hamberger Helper with out meat....but its Morning Star. and when u make ur food its actually Very Good.  They have saugage0 (none meat) and lots of good stuff.

U will do great and this is very goos for ur health. Meat causes alot of Health risk......I know its sooo good. but ur detoxing ur body. Now after oing this for a while once u do have something that has real meat in it you will Know.....U can get really sick once u start again. Like if u have Pork, U can get a real BAD headach, and Beef and will make u RUN! Sometimes I would love to stay on the Daniels fast...but to be a great Vegetarian it cost Money. U will need a lot of Veggies to take the place of meat and veggies cost more then a pound of meat.

Take it slow and keep the fish and chicken or bird. U should be fine, let beans take part instead of RED MEAT. then slowly after u find lots of recipes take away the chicken. Dont beat urself up if u make a mistake. take it slow and u will get it right.

    Good luck

  6. its okay if its only bread and cheese.

    but to be honest.

i think you should look up vegetarianism, and KNOW what to eat, and what you should do, before you actually become one.

cause if you dont eat or take certain pills, you might get sick
