OK here we go, my next-door neighbour has come to me to ask fro some help with their i-tunes. They say they have accidentally pressed the 'restore' button, and a large amount of their songs, (around 400 out of 500) have now got an exclamation mark next to their name, and refuse to be played. How do I play them?

  1. It basically means that when you imported your songs from a file, your songs are either deleted from the file, or moved from it. To resolve this, double click each song and a pop up will appear. It will ask you to locate the file manually. Click Locate. Find your song and double click it. You may now listen to it.

  2. if there is an ? mark near the song it means the song isn't there anymore most likely it has been deleted or moved from where they had it when they loaded the songs on itunes

also were the songs bought on itunes or downloaded from somewhere like limewire?

if they were downloaded from limewire

limewire saves the songs youve downloaded so all you have to do is import the songs again
