I have a cat and just recently my sister came back to live with us and she has a cat who is my cats sister (the two cats have been apart for a few years). My cat has been really mean to my sisters cat. Will these cats remember they are sisters and will they get along??

  1. Your going to need to let them get used to each other before you do anything else.  You might want to put them in seperate rooms, or rub some washed cloths on one cat and let the other sleep next to the cloth.  Slowly let them get used to each other.  I don't think that the cats will remember that they are sisters but you could atleast let them be friends.  I hope my advice helps you!

  2. Cats are very territorial, even if they are sisters. Usually if you have more than one cat, there is always a dominate one. Your cat evidently is showing it is dominate. You might need to keep them in separate rooms for a week or so, until they get used to each others presence.

Put them in the same room for short periods of time throughout the day. Hopefully, they will get used to each other soon and be friends.

  3. No they don't remember nor will they.  Your cat is letting the other know who is dominant and 'whose house this is'.  What you should look for is whether your sister's cat is trying to take over by scenting the house, by rubbing up against furniture and especially you.

Eventually she/he will either accept or completely ignore the other.
