Some ideas for an asphalt yard?

Just found out it's going to cost roughly $5K to rip up the side of our which is covered entirely in ashpalt.

What's some creative ways to use this side yard (that is bigger than our front and back yard together)

Basketball hoop

Paint it green, calling it low-maintenance grass if anyone asks.

"look at the gas we're saving not having to mow!"

When it gets real hot, spray some water on it, creating your own steam bath!

Put a basketball stand on it.  I know you're a slam dunker!  Actually, look online (for a free resource) about potted plant gardens.  It actually can look very nice.  But if I know you, you'll end up setting up a mock tiki-lounge and bar thing.  A little bar, a thatched roof, a stainless steel freezer unit...just add liquor, and you're set!
