They knew they entered the US illegally or overstayed illegally with deliberate intent to do so. Therefore, at some level they understood any documents they acquired here could not be legal. Claiming ignorance of the law is related to duress is ludicrous.

We as citizens are told when we go to court that ignorance of the law is no excuse!!! The same goes here! There is no way that they did not know they were breaking more laws than the one they committed by being here. They should still be punished severely and deported with a permanent ban!!!

For one, even if you couldn't read, you'd know that it was someone else's identity. Ignorance of the law has never been tolerated and it shouldn't begin now. Think of the millions of people whose credit, reputation and general well being have been disrupted by identity theft.

But, back during the Great Depression, President Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of all illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work.

Then again in 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower deported

13 million Mexican Nationals!  The program was called "Operation Wet-back" so that American WWII and Korean veterans had a better chance at jobs.  It took 2 years, but they deported them!

         Now, if they could deport the ILLEGALS  back then, they can sure do it today!!
