i have heard the theory that you must always leave a cd/dvd in a cd/dvd player whether it is runnig or not. i have seen a relative of mine leaving a cd in his player before he switches it off. when i asked him why he does that, he told me that you must always leave a cd in a player else it will get damaged. i fail to understand how a player can get damaged if there is no cd when it is switched off. is this true?

  1. My Service Engineer told having a CD inside a Player protect the lens from dust.

  2. There is no logic behind leaving a disc in the player to prevent damage. It is totally false.
