  1. It means that the original bill with that serial number was defective and the bill with the star is replacing it.


  2. The star means te note was replaced during production

    the star shows its a replacement note reprint to insure the production run sequence is not missing the destroyed note

    so if your note has a star on it it very special not a mistake

    its a replacement note for a jammed or destroyed printed note that was produced and accounted for and replacd in the number series due to damage or some other major cause to make replacement to complete the run of a complete series o notes already made.That way the federal reserve bank can track the whole series during its life knowing the torn or damages printed notes are in circulation and intact as a series. star notes are only replacement notes due to the fact

    our government never wanted us to think the gov every made any mistakes which we know now isnt true due to all the
