Question:

Some more ideas that I'd like feed back on...?

Ok, so I decided to do a coffee bar and my fiance wants a candy buffet... We're having the reception and then hosting breakfast the next morning for our guests (it's a destination wedding). My bridesmaids and I were talking and we've all agreed that it would be nice to have a late night snack after the reception for our parents, siblings, the bridal party, and nieces and nephews. Our wedding is going to be at either 2 or 3 PM with a dinner reception from either 3-7 or 4-8 PM... If we go with the reception ending at 7 we were thinking that if we did a late night snack it would be held around 10 or 11 (giving my hubby and I some alone time and time to get out of our wedding clothes). I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, even though it seems like it would be. Any feedback? Should we just get everyone to go out to IHOP after the ceremony (and then we can show off our wedding attire...)? Or should we just nix the idea and wait until breakfast the next morning?

  1. I think a late night snack would only be appropriate if the reception was ending at 11:00 or so but not to have everyone leave and then come back together.

But if you do... nacho bar!

  2. It's always nice to have a late lunch for guests. We had ours around 10:30 (dinner was at 6), just after the break for the bouquet toss. We had buns, variety of coldcuts, cheeses, pickles, etc., and a variety of dainties.

  3. You can plan a little something if you want and can afford to do so, like apps or sandwiches.  you two wont have to attend as long as someone is there to watch over it.  That should be your time together.  Plus you will be tired and hostong a brunc in the AM you will want some sleep as well.

  4. I would forget the late night snack - you and your hubby are going to be tired and will most likely want some alone time. Your guests will probably be tired as well and just want some time to relax.

What you could do is maybe have some prepared gift baskets or snacks sent up to the rooms of your parents, bridal party, etc. You could have them waiting for them when they return from the reception. This way they can relax and have a little something to eat; then the next morning you can do breakfast.

  5. Um ok...a bridal dress at IHOP...No.

I would do the breakfast.  If your guests want a late night snack, its called the hotel vending machine.  That's an unnecessary expense for you.  But the farewell brunch would be really nice.

  6. forget the late night snack you and your hubby should have some special alone time together after the most important day of your life. go out in the morning
