  2. Personally i feel the same, I don't like being on medication but what I do when I feel like a panic attack is coming I hold on tight to my pillow wrapping my arms and legs around it, so basically hugging it and I ask myself  questions and answer each one...

    Whats my name?

    Where am I?

    How old am I?

Whats the last movie I remember watching and tell myself what happened in it in detail?

the last question helps me the most coz it gets me to focus on  detailing a movie which helps me to calm down(you should probably leave out horror movies or anything like that)

hope this helps and hope you feel better soon:)

  3. Medicine makes me feel horrible

    What helps for me at night is;

Release all your thoughts and feelings into a journal/notebook then sit in a dark room and concentrate on your breathing just let your mind go, If any thoughts come into your mind accept it and release it. Takes a bit of practice but this works better then any medicine I have ever taken and I've been on lots including xanax.

  4. U see ur doc if ever u dnt have any health prob then u must consult a psychologist.Somtimes anxiety occur when past thins comes back to the conscience.A small therapy can sooth thins

  5. yes i use valium when i feel like that. they tried to give me anti d's but I'm so not depressed, just get a little freaked out some nights when i think i hear cars pull up in my driveway or someone breaking in (which has never even happened)

  6. Not to sound cruel but: Sometimes everyone has anxiety. Bite your tongue and deal with it, honey. It's part of life. Don't drug yourself for it.

  7. I suffer from anxiety attacks or what I call panic attacks. I currently take paxil for my depression and it seems to help out alot. I don't have that drugged feeling, or hardly any side effects. I have not found anything to actually help me during a panic attack. The only thing I try to do is stay calm when I feel one coming, and my dr prescribed klonopin. I can take half of one when I'm feeling anxious or nervous, and it usually works. But, I have to catch it before I'm having one. The klonopin doesn't make me feel high, just kinda blah. But I'd rather feel blah for a day than have a panic attack that last two minutes.

  8. You can jig it away. Go into your room and grab a pad and some pencils. Just start drawing.

You pencil lines first and you don't even think about what you are going to draw first. Like Mr. Scribble.

Once you have drawn some base lines. You can then move onto colors.

Maybe a heart to start off with. You add to it and color it. You build up your skills.

Maybe getting tape recorder and going into your room and just talking on it till you feel better.

Then you can listen back if you really want to one day. It might help.

I'm not a doctor so I don't know about giving medication.

You could try those things in conjunction with what the doctor tells you take.

  9. Don't be too quick to get medicine because you can become addicted. Every so often may be more often than you would like. I would work out for five minutes before going to bed. Do something that is distracting like watching funny videos on http://www.nicolesguide.com. That works for me when I feel anxious.

If you feel you need medication than go and see a doctor because that is the safe way to deal with it.

You may consider talking out what you are feeling and you can do that also in the chat room on http://www.nicolesguide.com, the people there are supportive and they will talk to you until you are feeling better.

  10. I used to feel the same way. Please take this into consideration. It worked for me, although I am not you.

I had overwhelming anxiety. It turned out to be my use of Splenda. Yup Splenda. How could something that taste so good, be so bad?

I like to say sucralose, not Splenda, because that is what Splenda is. And it is in a lot of stuff. Sadly, the package doesn't have to say Splenda or diet to have sucralose in it. You have to read labels. So, you might be using it and don't even know it!

Sucralose is poison. It ruined five years of my life. I had a laundry list of medical problems while taking it, including overwhelming anxiety, depression, mood swings, insomnia, gastrointestinal issues and more.

Go ahead, google: anxiety splenda or anxiety sucralose or insomnia splenda or insomnia sucralose

The slogan, "Made from sugar..." is very misleading. Splenda might be made from sugar, but it is far from sugar. The resulting chemical is an organochloride (chlorocarbon). Organochlorides are typically poisons.

carbon monoxide - made from oxygen so its like a breath of fresh air

  11. I have a little bit of anxiety and depression.

I have been on prozac. It totally doped me and I hated it.

I don't know how well i cope with my panic attacks because i haven't had one in a while.

I would always just hold it all in and feel like h**l inside.

And thats the only way i cope with it.

If not scream into your pillow, or hug it.

Doing exercise is a good idea too as one of the other posters have said.

Vallium can definately help when you get quite bad so you can take it as long as you know what your doing etc.

    Hope this helps =]

    Chloe.

  12. Go to your doctor. My mom was like that and they put her on an antidepressant. I was depressed and they put me on paxil which is an anti-anxiety, so medicine really doesn't make sense. See your doctor, they'll be able to prescribe something to help you. Plus those types of medications can really mess with your head, so you'll have to be monitored by your doctor for a few months to make sure you don't become suicidal or homicidal.

  13. Pray Pray Pray. Also, when you feel it coming on, give yourself a reality check...Look around and think about it ... : What do I have to be so anxious about?  Is there something that I'm not liking that's going on? If you can't find anything around you then concentrate on your breathing to calm yourself down. If there is something that you think might be triggering it, try to fix it. And also, something else is fluorescent lights will trigger it. If you have any around you during the day that could be it too. But sometimes there's nothing we can do to fix that. I don't think that theres anything wrong with you getting medication but you need to try and exhaust all other options before you do that...Good Luck...God Bless You
