Some of The Milestones Achieved in Skateboarding history
During sports history Skateboarders have done many dangerous and heart throbbing manoeuvres. All of the manoeuvres looked crazy; here are some of the milestones which the skateboarders accomplished throughout time.
Tony Hawk was the first to do The 900, a milestone which he accomplished in the x games held in year 1999 after 10 failed attempts. The attempt was passed the actual time but still a commentator said that we should carry it on as we are the ones who make rules. It even emerged as his signature move and was featured in his video game known as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater.
In skateboarding history the full loop is the manoeuvre few skateboarders have ever seen or fewer who ever tried one. This trick is for real and requires lot of practice to achieve. However it requires great control and balance, besides it’s very dangerous to perform. The trick needed to perform this manoeuvre is that you go fast while reaching the top if you lose your speed then you will fall off and most likely hurt yourself pretty badly.
Danny Way another milestone achiever made history on July 09, 2005 when he jumped over the Great Wall of China on his skateboard. He achieved this landmark with the help of his mega ramp which he especially built for covering incredible distances on his skateboard. He also built the ramp for having fun in his leisure time. They even added the ramp in the x games as an event. At the end of the mega ramp comes a Super Jump.
The main idea behind it was, when you go down a huge roll in, jump the gap and hit a quarter pipe 60 miles an hour. This move was dangerous to perform as it required huge jumps along with the balance on board.
Beside all the top boarders Rodney Mullen is none to be left behind. The Guy himself has skating skills that are difficult to match. Watch him and you will know that the guy has the potential to go for a handstand to many different moves on skateboard and even display multiple flipping moves without falling.
Rodney was also the inventor of the magic flip later to be known as the kick flip which became popular throughout the time. In performing these manoeuvres his skills are unmatchable.Lip tricks were manoeuvres which were first time performed by skateboard legend Jay Adams.
They were actually performed on mini ramps, half pipes and quarter pipes. Later these manoeuvre became popular was performed by many skateboarders and was named different name according to the move. Some of the known Lip tricks were feeble, nose stall, miller flip etc.
All these milestones and many more show how extreme skateboarding can be; Even then skateboarders try their best and push the limits possible to achieve their goal. Their only desire is to keep the game alive for the viewers until the end of mankind. One thing more that should be kept in mind before skateboarding is to wear a helmet so that if by any chance you meet an accident you don’t break your skull.
