Some of my songs don't play on my ipod nano, what do I do?

I have an ipod nano 3rd generation. I just got it this summer. I've noticed that some of my songs don't play all the way out. The song would start, play for 10 seconds and then it goes into the next song. These are songs I downloaded from cds. It only does it on the songs from those particular CDs. All of my other songs play all the way through. I never had that problem with my other ipod and I don't want to call tech support if I don't need to.

Should I...

A. Delete those albums from my ipod and then download them again.

Or

B. Reset my ipod and load all of my songs back on it again.

Has this ever happened to anyone?

  1. It might be that when you copied your CDs to your PC the cd was scratched and not all the info was copied correctly which is why it doesn't play properly.

Try giving your CDs a wipe then re-recording them onto your PC.

  2. Dude's right, it could be either the CD was scratched or the song file isn't supported. Clean the CD and re-import it. Try a converter if the song file isn't supported. Test to see if it plays on your computer, to isolate it to the song file or the iPod.

  3. Yes, the same thing happened to me with my mini, and same thing to her sister with her 1G and 2G nanos (even though you have a 3G, I'm pretty sure its the same problem.  To solve the problem temporarily (if at all), delete the albums and download them again.  To solve it for good, you will need (more patience than the other method) and to restore (not reset) your whole iPod and re-load all of your songs (hope its not too many).  Plus this gives you the opportunity to get rid of and 'junk music' that you really don't like anymore.

    Good luck!!!

  4. Well check that the songs are not playing are in an ipod supported format. If they are not then you will have to convert them... I'm pretty sure that the ipod format is AVI4, I'm not entirely sure.
