by "our" car: my husband and mine, is not the first time that we find the front windows all the way down, we were thinking that maybe we forgot, but more than 3 times already? also since some week's ago we been having problems with the key to go in all the way in, and trying to turn on the car, on saturday we parked after a long time trying to turn on the car.

Now i want to know what can we do about this, should we tell the cops? or should we wait untill the car is taken? how about a alarm system? but is that going to stop them?

'by the way the car is parked on the street all the time, we don't have garage"

  1. Definitely report it to the police BEFORE the vehicle is stolen.  They may keep a better eye on your neighborhood at night.

Make sure your vehicle is locked and windows are up, and pay attention to small details that way you can tell if anything has been fiddled with since you left the car (i.e-put an air freshner somewhere and see if it gets moved.)

  2. In addition to steering locking systems and alarms on your car, you might purchase some motion detecting lights for the front of your house unless you are in an apartment.

  3. If they wanted it, wouldn't they have stole it already?

  4. you should tell the cops now so they are alert

  5. notfy the police department, and install an alarm system, usually when the alarm goes off it will scare the person or persons away.

  6. Purchase a steering wheel lock device.

  7. well, I'm only 16 but  i try to make a good suggestion... if it were me, (and money wasn't not something to worry about) i would go to wal-mart and get a small security cam. (usually in the camera department and cost $70-$150) and try to get evidence, to me it doesnt sound like the cops  could get anything off windows down and trouble putting a key into the ignition.

  8. Get an alarm and tell the police about it.

  9. Have you checked the odometer to make sure the car hasn't been being driven, then returned?  Yes, I would inform the police and if you can afford it have an alarm installed, and have a mechanic install a "kill switch" that disables the engine, and locate it where only you kow where it is.  A fairly cheap device called "the Club" makes steering impossible and can be purchased at Wal*Mart.  Be sure to try to park in a well-lit area.  Good luck with it!  A determined car thief can defeat all these safeguards, but most will look for an easier target.

  10. Someone has targeted your car, and is trying to start it. Wait until it is stolen? what kind of logic is that? then your ins. goes up. Get a alarm sytem.
