Okay im in a insurance company for the past 6 months as a trainne with no previous experiance, and i am under no circumstances allowed to give advice ( i need to be trained fully to do that)

My manager will give out if i dont let him know if iam replying to customer quiries ( apart from the obvious ones) and also will give out if i dont and ask me why didnt u do this say this tell them this ect..... he also tells me to never do/ say anything iam unsure of......

I cant win, hes not the type of guy u argue with...... alot of people are mentalists according to him, iv tried but i will lose with any argument disscussion i have with him even about life in general ( its only the 2 of us in the office)

I dont know whos right or wrong or what to do?

How can i help this situation?

Should i look for a new job?

Is 6 months enough experiance to get a new job? esp with the way jobs are now?

I feel lucky to have gotten this as i have no other experiance in this field and did not go to collage.....

  1. don't put yourself in financial problems.  find a new jog and then get going.  times are tough and it may take awhile but you'll find something.

  2. You do not have to like the people you work with.  I worked for an absolute tyrant for 8 years and though I still hate him, the experience was worthwhile.  Take your emotions out of the equation and just to the job until.  If you gain valuable experience it is definitely worthy it in the end.  The job market is not great right now.  Concentrate on every task that you given and perform to the absolute best of your ability.  Focus on the work and not him.  I know it's difficult to separate your feelings from your actions but this is something that everyone needs to learn how to do in order to mature and succeed in their career.  Just concentrate on the work and perform everything so perfectly that you make it “difficult” for him to criticize.  I did not say “impossible” because people like him will never be happy, that’s why they torture people like us.

  3. I would not try to argue with the boss. That is never too good of an idea. lol A lot of bosses do not agree with you and you feel like you will never win. A lot of the times you can't win with them because they are the boss and the boss always wins! I think you should try hard to make things work there but in the mean time apply for other positions. If you don't find anything else than at least you know you still have the position you do. I think 6 months is the min. experience a lot of places want so that is a good start! The longer you can stay the better it will look.

  4. Get a lawyer and report him to the feds. If he's doing dirty deeds you should stop him and be rewarded for it. Do the right thing, think of Sarah Palin!
