I got busy in life and forgot about some pending members. I was notified they were removed. I feel bad about that as I would have let them join. Is there a way for me to uncover previous pending members who Yahoo deleted so I can track them down and join them us as members?

  1. you can look into your logs, under group activity- memberships, and look to see who subscribed, send them an invite

  2. Go to your group website (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/YOURGROUPN... being sure to replace "YOURGROUPNAMEHERE" with the exact name of your group).

Log in to your account (use the one that has administrative privileges).

Click on "Management" on the left menu bar (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/YOURGROUPN...

Under "Group Activity", click on "Memberships" (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/YOURGROUPN...

Scroll through the list to find the members Yahoo! deleted before you approved their membership.  You will see something like: "Oct 7, 2007 12:50 am JOE_USER <JOE_USER@yahoo.com> Membership request expired"

Note their exact usernames/email addresses.  It may be helpful to use Copy (select, control-C or select, right-mouse-click, copy) and Paste (Start, Run, Notepad.exe, select, control-V or select, right-mouse-click, paste).

Once your list is complete, click on "Invite" in the left menu bar (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/YOURGROUPN...

Enter your list of usernames/email addresses in the box provided, separating each name with a carriage return (put them on separate lines).  If you used the Copy/Paste Notepad method above, go back to your Notepad file and use Cut (select, control-X or select, right-mouse-click, cut) and Paste (select, control-V or select, right-mouse-click, paste).  Using Cut will help you keep track of the names you still need to invite while Copy may cause you to enter duplicates.

In the second box provided, enter a quick introductory message like, "Hello, I'm the Moderator of YOURGROUPNAMEHERE on Yahoo! groups (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/YOURGROUPN...  You recently requested to join the group but I failed to approve your request before Yahoo! automatically deleted your membership (your request expired).  I apologize for my slow response and would like to invite you to join.  If you would still like to join, please use the link provided in this email and you will be automatically approved without having to wait for my approval.  Thank you and I hope to see you online soon!"

    Click "Submit Invite".

    That should do it!
