I want to know about a few things . . .

1. I dont have an agent or an editor. Can I still get published ?

2. Does the publishing house bear the publiciy cost and all ?

3. Is it hard to get published in India ?

I Have written a Short Story, 2200 words. Can you judge on the basis of this, if I can get this story published or not ?

A CLOWN

I am a clown, and am proud to call myself one. My mother used to say that it is a great deed to diminish someone's sorrow and pain and gift him joy and happiness. It takes a lot of hard work to convert someone's tears into smiles. I have to cry to make them laugh, I have to fall from great heights to make them jump with joy. It takes a great deal of courage to make people laugh. And, I can proudly say that I do my job with uttermost sincerity.

  1. 1. yes

    2. yes, they can do, but that depends on how hard they want to push your book. A sad reality is that most books that publishers actually buy never make it to print (the author does get the advance money, but the book can no longer be taken elsewhere to be published- it will only come out if you have a successful book in the future), of the books that actually get printed, most are only given very small print runs and end up scattered around a region to test the book. Very poor placement is given to them in book stores and generally go unnoticed. A very select few books are pushed by the publishers, but there is a chance.

    3. I don't know

Didn't read your story here; just didn't have the time, but good luck.
