  1. Would you be interested in going into a partnership with an existing dairy operation? Contact me.

  2. You do not mention your location.  If you have no experience in animal husbandry and farm management I strongly urge you to either have the financial ability to hire a farm manager/herdsman that is experienced or for you to go work for someone else to gain the needed experience.  The financial input required to establish a dairy without prior knowledge or experience could be a disaster in the making.   Again, not knowing your location makes it a little difficult to give any suggestions.   The required knowledge and financial inputs are tremendous and I would not recommend venturing into this without some sound advice from someone that can direct you and give you good guidance.  I have worked a lifetime in the dairy business and have seen any number of good people venture into this business with good intentions and fail financially due to the lack of knowledge required.  Best wishes to you.

  3. Ali t,  Here's to hoping that your dad knows a lot more about this operation than you.  If not, I would suggest that you give your money to someone or some worthy cause where it can do some real good.  It would be much easier and save you and your dad a lot of work losing it. You would have a tough time making a go of either starting up a dairy or trying to raise buffalo. Trying both together you will lose your money probably 4 times faster.

  4. You can get a lot of information from the ag college websites.  I am suprised that you are considering a combination dairy-buffalo operation since the equipment required is much different.  a Beef-Buffalo operation would be much more compatable

  6. How luck you are? This is a big investment, it doesn't need gabling at all, find a qualified person in your location, you will benefit a lot.

  7. Most of the time it is cheaper to go into existing operations. There are consultants that woulkd be better than a website. You need some hands on info on handling, milking , stock feeding, and stock. This is a big endevour. good luck
