  1. I graduated with an IB Diploma in 2001, so I can give you some hints.

First of all, I'd recommend you head to http://ibo.org/diploma/, which is the official website for IB's Diploma Programme.  They have a lot of information there (it's a sort of complicated program), and it would be silly for me to repeat it all here. I'd encourage you to read all the information on the eight links on the right.  At that point, you should be somewhat familiar with what will be expected of you.

Subjects are the following components: history, math, sciences, english, social sciences/history, foreign language, an extra elective of your choice (such as art or psychology), and a senior-year course called Theory of Knowledge, which is kind of like a Philosophy class.  You'll also need to do volunteer work, standardized tests for each subject you take, and an Extended Essay, but you can read about all of that further at the link.

Yes, it's tough.  It's an advanced program for high-school students who plan to go to college.  But if you're a hard worker, you can do it.

I'm not sure what you mean by how you'll get marks.  Grades in class will be like any other school: from assignments and tests.  Your scores that determine if you get college credit and an IB Diploma (to go along with your regular diploma) will come from standardized tests, and in some cases, oral exams or final projects.

Notes?  You'll take notes for class like usual.

In short, it's a challenging program with a lot of details to it.  Just read the link and ask your teachers lots of questions, and you should be OK.
